Son of director John Boorman and Christel Kruse Boorman.
Brother of Katrine Boorman, Lola Boorman and Telsche Boorman, twin brother of Daisy Boorman.
Daughters, Doone Yasmin, born in London in Jan 1996 and Kinvara Atalanta, born in London in 1997.
Father of Kinvara Boorman and Doone Boorman.
Motorcycle of choice is the Italian Ducati 748 sports model, but Boorman and pal Ewan McGregor each rode a BMW 1150GS Adventure for their marathon trip around the world in "Long Way Round" (2004).
Is dyslexic.
Charley and Ewan McGregor first met on the set of The Serpent's Kiss (1997). It wasn't until both men discovered they shared a mutual passion for motorcycles that their friendship was finally sealed.
Drives a Toyota Prius but confesses that cars don't have the same effect on him as motorcycles. [2008]
First motorbike that he ever owned was a Yamaha DT100. Because he was too young to hold a license, he could only ride the bike off-road.
Served as a pageboy at the wedding of Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand during the Deliverance (1972) shoot. When Bertrand gave birth to her second child June 4, 1975, Boorman ended up being the first-ever male to hold Angelina Jolie in his arms. Boorman was 8 and Jolie was but an infant.
A non-fatal brush with cancer in 2010 necessitated the removal of a testicle which was replaced with a prosthesis. Boorman quipped, "I had it whipped out and I have a false testicle in there now. If I bury myself, the only thing that will probably be left is a silicone testicle lying in the coffin". |
